4️⃣ Knowledge management & lessons learnt

To support knowledge management and methodological learning to enhance the effectiveness of EU External Action, INTPA.D4, through collaborative platforms, interactive tools, and targeted training, help you to strengthen your capacity to design, implement, and evaluate interventions effectively.  

Strengthening Learning and Knowledge Sharing through the following INTPA.D4 resources:  

Accessible resources for improved decision-making: 

✅ Intervention Cycle Methodology (ICM) Guide: compendium of all INTPA guidance, complementing the e-Companion. 

✅ Data Hub: compilation of external and internal data sources to support your work on policy, programming and design. 

✅ Global Development Data tool (GDDT): data tool providing a high-level picture of economic and social indicators, figures, and trends related to countries, regions and regional organisations. 

✅ Treasure: databank informing design with results from evaluations and ROM (in development).  

Knowledge sharing and peer exchange: 

✅ Capacity4dev: offers a secure and collaborative space to connect with peers and exchange knowledge in Groups. Get access to tools for your daily work in Resources, and give visibility and share information on lessons learnt from your interventions in Projects. Please, contact support@capacity4dev.eu to reach out to our Team. 

  • Specialized support available to European Union Delegations on opening and designing Project and Programme pages on Capacity4dev. Book a short call with the Community Manager to get started. 

✅ Community coffees: live interactive sessions allowing you and your implementing partners to engage on topics of interest and learn from each other. Contact INTPA-KNOWLEDGE-MANAGEMENT@ec.europa.eu for more information or to propose a topic. 

Fundamental and specialized training, including intercultural competencies: 

✅ The Fundamental Training Package (FTP) on Intervention Cycle Management provides the EC staff in Headquarters and Delegations with a series of online training organised to enhance their competences on Introduction to Intervention Cycle Management (incl. Intercultural Core Competences)Context Analysis  for designing an interventionLogical Framework Approach (LFA) for designing an InterventionInternal Monitoring for ResultsPolicy dialogue and negotiation (incl. ✅ Specialised training, for e.g. Financing not linked to costs (FNLC): basic elements of FNLC, as well as practical examples and soft skills practice to gain the essential knowledge needed to design an intervention financed entirely or partly via FNLC.  

Collaborative knowledge network for the M&E Focal Points: 

✅ M&E Focal Points network meetings: learn and discuss with other M&E points who are dealing with similar topics and situations. 

✅ M&E Focal Points group: Capacity4dev Group where you can access resources and link to your peers in order to support your work as an M&E Focal Point.
