2️⃣ Support Quality of Design
To support the design of high-quality interventions, INTPA.D4 provides EU staff with expert guidance, practical tools, and capacity-building resources. INTPA.D4 helps ensure that actions and interventions are strategic, results-oriented, and aligned with EU priorities.
| Strengthen the design process of your interventions through the following INTPA.D4 resources: |
|---|
Action Document review and coaching: ✅ Standard reviews of all Action Documents to check the consistency of logframes and intervention logic and the uptake of corporate indicators prior to Quality Review Meetings. ✅ Comprehensive reviews for Action Documents design can be requested via INTPA-AD-RESULTS@ec.europa.eu ✅ The coaching service to build Operational Managers’ capacities to design logical frameworks for Action Documents can be requested at any stage of the formulation process via INTPA-AD-RESULTS@ec.europa.eu. The coaching is based on drafted Action Documents. ✅ The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Mapper allows Operational Managers to map EU policies and documents in relations to SDGs and EU and INTPA political priorities through automated text mining techniques. |
EFSD+ funded interventions and Financing Not Linked to Costs (FNLC) review: Review of designs at contracting level. ✅ Reviews of EFSD+ funded interventions designs can be requested via INTPA-D4-SUPPORT-TO-FINANCIAL-INSTRUMENTS@ec.europa.eu ✅ Reviews of Financing not linked to costs (FNLC) designs can be requested via INTPA-FINANCING-NOT-LINKED-TO-COSTS@ec.europa.eu |
Supporting development of logframes and measurement frameworks: Ensuring well-structured logical frameworks and robust monitoring frameworks. ✅ The Sector Indicators Guidance on thematic results and indicators covers DG INTPA strategies in various sectors, aiming to enhance the quality of EU-funded interventions – in terms of design, and monitoring in the course of implementation. It is addressed to EC staff and external partners involved in the preparation of action documents and intervention documents, helping them to develop solid logical framework matrices. It identifies clear and measurable results statements in line with DG INTPA policy priorities, as well as with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), NDICI Regulation, Gender Action Plan (GAP III) and the Global Europe Results Framework, along with a range of good indicators to monitor progress. ✅ Methodological support and tools to improve intervention logframe design: More info on upcoming support soon. |
Provide training on logframe approach: Building capacity to design impactful interventions using structured methodologies. ✅ The Fundamental Training Package (FTP) on Intervention Cycle Management provides the EC staff in Headquarters and Delegations with a series of online training organised to enhance their competences on Logical Framework Approach (LFA) for designing an Intervention as well as on Introduction to Intervention Cycle Management (incl. Intercultural Core Competences), and Context Analysis for designing an intervention. Find more info on other modules.
