What is the difference between marking an indicator as gender-sensitive and/or encoding sex-disaggregation?

Gender sensitivity and disaggregation are different aspects. 

  • Gender sensitivity: indicators may be inherently gender-sensitive or require a determination of sensitivity based on the specific context and application
  • Sex disaggregation: when an indicator refers to people, it has to be disaggregated by sex. 

You can mark both when creating custom indicators.
