Civil society – media networking

The objective of this activity is to facilitate initial contact between GERS civil society and media cohorts of participants (online) and help them engage in achieving the project impact. The activity focused on connecting them by using Cap4Dev discussion groups for participants and establishing lines of communication at the group and individual levels. The activity also included some virtual meetings and debates where the participants were put in the driving seat of the event, like when our members introduced their traditions and culture to their colleagues by cooking their traditional food on Zoom.

During the Civil society – media networking activity our trainer, Nadia Bellardi, drove the activity as a  concentrated effort for conceptualising a model of how the media and civil society cohort will work together throughout the project in order to establish an uninterrupted flow of stories that will be conceptualised collaboratively between the two groups of participants. This was an initial step in identifying and reporting on societal challenges manifesting at the community level,  local initiatives and actors. Following this, the journalist and civil society GERIS Network members have embarked and deepened their connection on the exchange visits.
