Virtual Conversation series 1
The first round of Virtual Conversation Series is where GERIS network members met for the first time in June 2021. The online meetings marked the formal commencement of the GERIS project for the participants, GERIS Network members. The conversation was facilitated by the project team and external moderators - Nadia Bellardi and Tim Williams.
Upon selection, 150 civil society participants were divided into six thematic groups based on their choice for thematic engagement and professional orientation.
The virtual conversations had two main goals. The first was to facilitate bonding between the participants and interact by sharing their work and views, drawing from their own countries and professional experiences. The participants talked about challenges and any issues that are important to them, and to the community members where they work. The second goal was to have a formal and structured discussion with the participants about the proposed GERIS themes and fine-tuning of the issues to be addressed in the project.
