News Story: Lesotho Breakfast Meeting and One-Day Awareness Training on ISO/IEC 17025

A breakfast meeting and one-day awareness training course on ISO/IEC 17025 was held for Lesotho stakeholders on 30 May 2016. These were facilitated by the Southern African Development Community Accreditation Services (SADCAS) and the National Accreditation Focal Point (NAFP) of Lesotho, housed within the Department of Standards and Quality Assurance under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The Hub & Spokes II Programe national trade adviser to Lesotho, Samuel Yeboah, facilitated the activity from within the Ministry.
Twenty one participants attended the breakfast meeting, including the Chief Executive Officers, University Deans and the Government, whilst participants to the training included Principal Secretaries and Heads of Government laboratories from 14 organizations, including the Press. Mr Molebatsi, Director of the Department of Standards and Quality Assurance, opened the breakfast meeting to welcome delegates and Mr Samuel Yeboah, Lesotho national trade adviser, explained the role of the programme in building trade capacity with regards to laboratory accreditation.
