ACP EU TBT Programme

The TBT Programme has developed in collaboration with a number of partners e-larning programmes related to different pillars of QI. Please see in this page a first e-learning programmes focused on building the capacity of African entities in accreditation and in metrology elaborated in collaboration with the African Accreditation Cooperation (AFRAC) and with the International Organisation of Metrology: 

OIML e-learning: Metrology 

Two e-learning courses were developed within this thematic:

• Legal Metrology in detail
• Introduction to Metrology as an Element of Quality Infrastructure

AFRAC e-learning: Accreditation

Objectives: 

1. Increasing the awareness of the importance of accreditation accross Africa
2. Increasing understanding of accreditation cooperation
3. Assisting governments to establish quality infrastructure 
4. Assisting CABs to prepare for accreditation

Course structure:

1. Course 1: Accreditation in International Trade
2. Course 2 - “Introduction to the principles of ISO/IEC 17011, General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies”
3. Course 3 - “Establishing and efficiently managing a new Accreditation Body”
4. Course 4 - “Training of National Accreditation Focal Points (NAFPs)”
5. Course 5 - “Toolkit for Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) in the process of preparing for Accreditation”
6. Course 6 - “Peer Evaluator Training”
