TBT Programme best practices

The objective of the “Knowledge Dissemination on TBT Practices” project is to increase the effectiveness of donor funded projects in ACP countries in the area of trade promotion, and specifically to help overcome Technical Barriers to Trade. This project is built on the work of the ACP-EU TBT Programme and aims at:

  • (i) identifying the most successful elements of ACP-EU TBT projects, and (ii) articulating how those elements can be replicated by other ACP programmes.
  • (ii) articulating how those elements can be replicated by other ACP programmes.

The team of experts reviewed selected projects implemented by the ACP-EU TBT Programme and noted successful good practices related to their design, management, effectiveness, sustainability and results dissemination. This assessment resulted in the development of four case studies illustrating good practices.



This assessment also resulted in the selection of programme outputs for dissemination. The ACP anticipates that future technical assistance projects, including projects that focus on non-tariff barriers, will benefit from the rich experience gained by the EU-ACP TBT Programme.
