Mauritius: Trade Regulatory Impact Assessment

“Trade Regulatory Impact Assessment – Mauritius” is a project targeted at introducing Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) in this ACP country. It has been designed by the International Trade Division of the Mauritian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with the ACP-EU TBT Programme. The overall objectives of the project are as follows:

  • Promote the use of Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) as a mean of improving policy formulation and ensuring the implementation of better quality regulations;
  • Enhance transparency in the decision-making process to ensure that proper decisions are taken on an informed basis.
