What can make the EYD2015 successful?
The EYD2015 objectives are to crucially inform and raise public awareness of the added value of European development cooperation in view of global interdependence and mutual interest and to promote direct engagement of European citizens.
These objectives are without doubt ambitious and challenging, especially as we continue to live in times of financial crisis and extreme poverty. Nevertheless the widespread support we continue to receive across the board is a positive sign and we must now seize this opportunity to collectively make a difference in many ways. Having different EYD2015 campaigns, activities and tools run by all stakeholders will undoubtedly contribute to increasing awareness, new audiences, new platforms and increased participation of European citizens and thus make a realistic contribution to meeting these set objectives and a difference not just in 2015 but in the long-term.
