Resilience in Practice 2015

Fragility in 2015

Resilience in Practice 2015 Resilience is about saving lives and improving livelihoods at a time of increasing disasters and humanitarian crises. Humanitarian needs are growing rapidly and outstripping resources. The traditional division between humanitarian and development assistance is increasingly seen as ineffective as the number of protracted and recurring crises grows and the ability to reduce poverty and save lives is threatened.

Instead of the concept of resilience, this report focuses on the practice. Its aim is not to assess 'how much' or 'how well' different organisations have done but to showcase a variety of examples and approaches.
