Introduction to Mainstreaming Child Rights in Monitoring and Evaluation

This chapter focuses on mainstreaming child rights in the monitoring and evaluation of EC projects, programmes and policies. The EC often relies on external consultants to carry out monitoring and evaluation processes. While monitoring and evaluation may differ in scope, focus and timing within the programme cycle, many of the issues with regard to child rights mainstreaming are similar in nature – it is for that reason that monitoring and evaluation have been treated together in this section.

  • How to mainstream child rights in a Terms of Reference (TOR) for monitoring or evaluation with regard to: key issues and questions; methodology; and resources.

This chapter contains 19 slides and will take approximately 90 to 120 minutes to complete, including the concluding exercise.
