27-09 Presentation of the EIS at a training workshop on Energy Policy and Energy Conservation
The ECOWAS Energy Policy and the ECOWAS Energy Information System were presented in Praia at a training workshop on Energy Policy and Energy Conservation, organized by IFDD (Institut de la Francophonie pour le développement durable) in collaboration with the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE). The event was held ahead of the 8th ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF) and was attended by 40 participants mainly from the ECOWAS region as well as Cameroon, Djibouti and Mauritania.
The participants expressed high satisfaction with the presentations and commended the initiative of the Energy Information System (EIS). They urge the authorities to sustain the tool and to assist Member States in establishing national Energy Information Systems as well as in building capacity of national stakeholders.
