Artificial Intelligence Webinars

As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes an ever more central part of every aspect of people’s lives, people should be able to know, use and trust this innovative technology. The use of AI systems can have a significant role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, supporting democratic processes, and enhancing social rights, among its countless potential applications.

Therefore, we would like these webinars to be the opportunity to stimulate reflections on AI applications even in the most fragile and poorest countries.

The general objective of the initiative is to raise awareness about artificial intelligence technologies, EU policies, and concrete applications in EU partnerships worldwide.

To pursue this objective, the initiative intends to propose available free e-learning on-line courses as background materials, to encourage the engagement of a wide audience of participants, enabling attendees to benefit fully from the course.

The training will be composed of two different modules, executed through two self-standing webinars.

The first session, held on the 11th December 2020, consisted of a webinar introducing basic concepts related to artificial intelligence, presenting an overview about AI deployment in developing countries, and analysing the EU strategy, main policies and key geopolitical challenges in AI.

The second webinar, planned for February 2021, will examine the topic of AI in developing countries, diving into concrete examples of possible applications, and illustrating inspiring case studies developed and implemented in partner countries.

All the materials developed and used throughout this path will be stored in this group, to facilitate access and sharing purposes.
