Training Objectives

To allow DG DEVCO staff in EU Delegations (EUD) to enhance their knowledge through the dissemination and implementation of the recommendations and lessons learnt which arose from the “Study for the assessment of DEVCO work in digitalisation in Sub-Saharan Africa” and to feed the programming exercise by proposing a debate on the strategic approach and priority areas of intervention in a given country/region.

Content

• Interactive and participatory debates will take place during the webinars where the participants will identify the opportunities and challenges of the digitalisation interventions in their respective geographic areas; as well as analyse the problems and the relevant points to be reinforced, putting -forward common specific situations/cases and looking for solutions and tools to overcome problems. Each webinar will promote an EU, inclusive, gender-sensitive and human-centric approach to support digital transformation in Africa in the areas defined by the Digitalisation4Development (D4D) approach, promoting and backing reforms towards international standards taking into account the EU experience and sharing best practices.
• The set of actions mentioned will be addressed, in addition to a national level vision, with regional implications related to digitisation in order to support the programming process. Participants will be provided with opportunities for exchange, sharing and peer-to-peer learning from existing practices (best practices and lessons learnt). 

Target audience

The target audience will consist of EUD focal points on digitalisation in SSA, in particular those contributing to programming and project activities in sectors that could help in mainstreaming digitalisation.
