Digitalisation 4 Development

Training Objective

The training will target European Union’s Development Cooperation program officers and program managers working at several EU delegations, aiming at providing them with an introductory yet comprehensive exposure to key elements of digitalisation for the Agriculture.

The overall training will be composed by four standalone 2.5 hour webinars. 

Prior the training, participants are advised to have a look at the e-learning course on Digitalisation for Development in order to gather a solid comprehension of the fundamentals of digitalisation and to be able to make the most out of the training course.    

Content

• Webinar 1: Introduction to Digitalisation & the nexus with Development Cooperation and Agriculture
• Webinar 2: D4Agriculture: Transformative and disruptive 
• Webinar 3: Earth Observation for agriculture and food security policy support 
• Webinar 4: Digitalisation as an enabler of agricultural development: case studies 

Target Audience 

Participants will include DG INTPA staff in EU Delegations and Headquarters, staff from the “RELEX family” (NEAR, ECHO, TRADE, FPI, ECFIN, EEAS staff) and from the relevant line DGs, especially DG CNECT and DG AGRI. The participation of relevant line DGs is particularly encouraged to promote peer learning and establish the connections needed by DG INTPA staff across Delegations to mainstream digitalisation and agriculture as part of their programming and project activities.
