Digitalisation for Agriculture: 7-8 October 2019

Training Objectives

The training aims at enabling participants to:

  • Reflect on digitalisation, its effects and challenges in general and for their own working context. 
  • Have knowledge of relevant technology trends, frameworks, key actors and tools that help them to better assess current developments and to gain confidence for shaping policy debates on digital topics.
  • Understand the cross-cutting and disruptive nature of digitalisation and are able to contextualize digital strategies of key stakeholders within their own field of work.
  • Advise on challenges concerning the digital divide particularly with regards to access and gender.
  • Understand the value of digitalization for the whole agricultural value chain and subsectors.
  • Know key technologies and how they can be applicable to agriculture.
  • Advise on the elements of an ecosystem for the development of the D4Ag services.
  • Understand the linkage between digitalisation and food security in particular.

Target audience

Primarily RELEX ‘family’ (DEVCO, NEAR, EEAS) staff in the HQs and EU Delegations (potentially) involved in carrying out digitalisation policies and projects related to the agriculture sector.
