Nutrition seminar 19-21 March - "front-loading" Final session 5 : Joint Programming and multi-sectoral approach to tackling malnutrition
Dear all,
Monday’s start to the EC’s Seminar on The EC Nutrition Action Plan – Ensuring Quality Implementation is fast approaching!
We very much look forward to welcoming you to the Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie at 08:30 on Monday morning. But we also hope to see many of you on Sunday evening. Below are the details we shared with you last week:
We will be going for a drink at 20:00 on Sunday, to “La maison du Peuple”: http://www.cafemdp.com/
We include here the following materials to help in your final preparations:
1. The finalised agenda for the 3 days. Please help us by arriving in good time - by 08:30 - so that we can process all the registrations, sign-in sheets (for EU colleagues and SUN Focal Points), and have time to welcome you properly (with coffee!) before we commence our work.
Also, we would like you to note that the Commissioner will now be opening the seminar, so we really need to have everyone in their seats by 08:55.
2. We have prepared a note of some principles to help ensure that we have productive and constructive discussions at the seminar. We would be grateful if you give this your attention, and for your convenience we have also translated this into French.
3. An introduction to Joint Programming in the EU, which will be discussed on Monday afternoon. This may be especially helpful to non-EU colleagues.
4. We have an additional resource for the Tuesday afternoon session on research in food food fortification, which will help you to engage in the working group discussions. Attached is a matrix of potential avenues for operational research which will be explored during the session.
5. Finally, we have some resources to feed in to our discussions around a multi-sectoral approach to tackling malnutrition:
- Double-Duty Actions for Nutrition. A Policy Brief, WHO 2017 http://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/10665/255414/1/WHO-NMH-NHD-17.2-eng.pdf?ua=1
- Info Point on: Agriculture-Nutrition: Outcomes for Countries, presented by IFPRI: https://ec.europa.eu/europeaid/news-and-events/agriculture-nutrition-outcomes-countries_en
That is all from us at this stage.
We hope that these advance messages have been helpful in your preparations for this event.
We wish you all safe travels to Brussels, and we look forward to our three days together.
