Linkages

Identifying and developing linkages with other planned or existing programmes can help mitigate some negative effects the proposed initiative may have on children.
Examples of Linkages with Mitigating Programmes:
- Cash or in-kind transfers to support children’s education in poor families (scholarships for girls, food for work for parents);
- School construction to increase enrolment and bring school closer to home reducing the need for transport by children;
- The development of new services (community crèches) to free girls’ time for education;
- Pilot schemes in alternative transport such as mules or bicycles for girls and women.
