Risk Mitigation Strategies
![](img/04_09_02.png)
Does the proposed policy or programming initiative:
- include strategies to mitigate any possible negative effects for specific groups of children?
If preceding analyses have identified possible negative effects of the proposed initiative on children, these should be identified as risks to programme performance and mitigation strategies should be included in the overall programme strategy.
In the transport sector example, a key risk would be that girls drop out of school because transport user fees are too high and they can no longer get to schools which are too far from home. A mitigating strategy might include: building more rural schools, improving the regulation of transport fees, developing alternative forms of transport for rural girls and women, etc.
