Building on Latvia’s success as the OECD country with the highest number of women in senior management positions and a good percentage of 23% of women in the Information and Technology sector, this intervention supports the creation and development of technology companies founded and run by women who want to start or have already started a technology business.

Based on a specific analysis of women in technology and the digital gender gap in Uzbekistan, and by giving visibility to women’s start-ups, especially small and medium enterprises, and providing mentoring and networking opportunities, the project contributes to breaking gender stereotypes about the role of women in society.

Riga TechGirls, as the leading organisation and the first community in Latvia dedicated to educating and inspiring girls and women in technology, is bringing its experience and network to Uzbekistan to create a movement of women in technology.

In this way, the project supports the emergence of a new generation of women entrepreneurs who can then pass on their experience and knowledge to the next generation, promoting both gender equality and women's political, economic and social participation, as well as business development in Latvia and Uzbekistan.

As Juldiz Abatbaeva, one of the participants of the programme, highlights “The Female Founders Across Borders has had a positive impact. I changed my job and my ideas. Participation in this programme gave me more confidence. I use the acquired knowledge as digital marketing tools at work”.

But she is not the only one, we invite you to learn from the experiences of other participants
