Agronomist with specialization in applications of remote sensing for agriculture. After 10 years on control of CAP subsidies with remote sensing and GPS, I moved to the group dealing with food insecure countries; we monitor agriculture (with a foucus towards drought) in 80 food insecure countries on a monthly basis (see JRC ASAP); we also work on yield forecasting at regional (infra country) level using meteo and remote sensing yield indicators. Our main challenges there are to access crop statistics (over at least 15 years) and find relations between these statistics (which may be biased) and yield indicators (the ones we have may not be the best ones).

Policy Advisor, Economist and Programme Manager with a background in social development in fragile context, international relations, public policy and innovation for development. Advance knowledge on political economy of development in fragile countries and emerging economies in Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America. More than 15 years of experience providing analytical inputs and influencing national policy dialogues through innovative partnerships and solutions on social policy, social protection, local governance and public finance management.
