Civil Society Roadmaps
A strong civil society is essential for any democracy. It promotes diversity of voices, enables the participation of vulnerable groups, and helps craft better policies that lead to fair and sustainable development for all.
Since 2014, EU Delegations, in close coordination with Member States, have been developing Civil Society Roadmaps (CS RMs), which are strategic documents that guide a way to work and engage with civil society. In each of the partner countries, they allow for a more structured and strategic cooperation with civil society.
Currently the third generation of the CS RMs, which mostly cover the period 2021–2024, is being implemented. New CS Roadmaps that will cover the years 2025 and beyond are expected at the end of 2024; some Roadmaps already cover up to 2026 and 2027.
