Increase access of rural communities to safe water supply and basic sanitation
Proportion of the population with access to improved drinking water supply

Project description
Outcomes:
  • 1500 women, 1500 men, 1000 girls and 1000 boys have sustainable access, without discrimination, to sufficient, safe, acceptable, physically accessible and affordable water and acceptable basic sanitation
  • The capacity of the Ministry is enhanced to develop plans which prioritise resources for those communities and households with the least reliable access to potable water
Project description
Outcomes:

  • Proportion of the population, disaggregated by gender, age, ethnicity, disability, socio-economic status and nationality, with access to improved drinking water supply
  • Changes in the time required by women and girls to collect water
  • Municipal spending on water and sanitation infrastructure increases for the poorest communities
