The Overall Objective

All State parties to the CRC must uphold the best interest of the child as a primary consideration in decision-making. To ensure this, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child requires that the impact on the rights of the child of all project, programme and policy initiatives be assessed. Accordingly, this must be reflected in the programme logic model, starting with the overall objective.

In our example, child rights are not mainstreamed in the overall objective. Click on the overall objective to see a results formulation where child rights are mainstreamed, and why.
