Associations of Local Authorities: what roles do they play?

In this short segment Leonardo G. Romeo, Adjunct Professor of Planning at Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service, at the New York University, explains the role of Local Authorities, Associations of Local Authorities (ALAs) and the local communities in reaching better development outcomes. ALAs can play a crucial role in moving forward decentralisation processes that are frozen in the political phase. The international community should grasp this potential and enter into dialogues with the ALAs directly.

Recorded on 13 June 2013 in Quito, Ecuador.
