Interaction between LAs and Civil Society to produce better local development outcomes
In this short segment Leonardo G. Romeo, Adjunct Professor of Planning at Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service, at the New York University, explains the role of Local Authorities, Associations of Local Authorities and the local communities in reaching better development outcomes. With the involvement of the community and the private sector in the co-provision and the co-production of services (even taking their own initiatives), make it possible for Local Authorities to use their resources for something else. If Local Authorities engage and have a good dialogue with their communities they can leverage a tremendous potential of self-help for better outcomes in terms of better services in these communities.
