Objectives of the webinar
The specific objectives of the series are for participants to:
- Enhance their knowledge and understanding of the Green Deal’s main priority areas, focusing on biodiversity: state of play, latest policy developments and implications for EU cooperation;
- Understand the entry points, opportunities, challenges and key tools for integrating biodiversity in the EU cycle of operations – with particular focus on programming for 2021-2027 (specific programmes under TEIs, mainstreaming in all sectors);
- Understand recent developments of the biodiversity framework, and the opportunities for integrating biodiversity conservation with other activities (e.g. agriculture, energy, cities) into holistically managed landscapes with multiple benefits in terms of socio-economic and environment objectives.
Content
This webinar will cover:
- Part 1: Biodiversity in EU external action development policy: 2020 and beyond
- Part 2: Protection, sustainable use and restoration of high biodiversity-value areas
- (Integrated Landscape and Seascape Management)
- Part 3: Global programmes
Target audience
The webinar is open to all EU staff working in EU Delegations or Headquarters. In particular, those who are not working in environment and climate change sectors are encouraged to participate.
