Introduction to the Circular Economy

Rationale

The 1.5-hour session aims at providing the participants with an understanding of the opportunities brought about by a transition to a circular economy, and of their potential to promote and support partner countries’ engagement in this process, with multiple benefits in terms of growth, jobs, and environmental (notably climate) objectives. It provides the audience with essential information, tools and case studies to support EU’s international cooperation on the circular economy. The session takes into account EU’s updated policy framework, recent developments in partner countries, and builds on EU and development partners’ experience. As such, it provides concrete recommendations supporting programming, dialogue, and programme implementation.
