DAY 2 (29 June): SWAP expériences (Chef de file: DEVCO) with collaboration of AfDB
Day 2 is dedicated to exchange experiences on Sector-Wide Approach in the Water sector. EC has launched with the African Development Bank (AfDB) a study on the topic. A first desk study phase took place in 2010 with a final report delivered in January 2011.
A second phase, consisting on country case studies, has started in March 2011. The case study countries are : Senegal, Burkina Faso, Lesotho, South Africa, Uganda, Jordan and Bolivia.
The objective of the study is “a forward looking report that summarises the lessons learnt, best practices and impact and outcomes of SWAp in the water sector in order to provide operational guidance to sector practitioners and donor agencies working on country led sector approaches in the water sector”
During this day the first conclusion of the study (from the first 6 field missions) will be presented and discussed through the 5 areas covered by the study
