Title of RWP:Determination of Design and material for use as the protective gears for the Artisanal scale miners(ASM) in lake Katwe. 

Brief Description: In lake katwe there is salt mining activity, to which miners use rudimentary methods of protective gears (use of condoms by men and women use ‘kaloo’, kaloo is a solid substance obtained from cassava flour which is cooked and mingled).

This method of protective gears utilised by the miners is not safe enough for the miners. Therefore, there is need to acertain the appropriate material and design of the protective gears to be used by the miners in lake katwe, Western Uganda.
